PULSE

2018 GLASS/PAPER

Series of Six Works on Creative Self-Isolation: a condition in which introspection compels the artist to work in silence — locked away, unseen. Whether born of doubt in the value of their creative output, or fear of diluting it through excessive public attention, the result is the same: this relentless self-reflection pulses like hammerblows against the artist’s consciousness, constricting their perception, distorting their vision, and preventing any harmonious evolution.

The objects within these works interact with space: they cast reflections and shadows, refract light, tremble with potential but leave no tangible trace upon anything. They exist as presences without footprint, as if they had been made yet never allowed to be. Just like the artworks that were born in the studio, only to be sealed away in the drawer, forever unfinished, forever unshared.
